HOW TO CLEAN YOUR GYM FLOOR
Most court floors are used all day long and are often abused with street shoes, equipment, chairs, and tables. The dirt and grit that is tracked onto your court surface is very abrasive. If the dirt and grit is not picked up off the floor daily your court floor will become dull and slippery much more quickly.
The floor should be dry mopped several times during the day to remove dust, grit, and dirt. At the end of each day or right before a game the floor should be damp mopped using the PROMOP™ equipped with the microcleanze cleaning pad. Dampen the cleaning pad in a solution of water mixed with Courtcleanze (10 parts water - 1 part Courtcleanze). This damp cleaning process will deep clean and increase traction to your floor.
The PROMOP™ is made from aluminum so it's durable, light weight, and easy to use. It's telescoping handing can be adjusted to fit each user. The PROMOP™ includes both the dry and damp microcleanze pads. Each microfiber pad quickly attaches to the bottom side of the PROMOP™ by Velcro. In seconds you can switch between the dry and damp pad or remove the pads to wash.
Microcleanze fabric picks up ten times more dust, dirt, and grit than traditional cotton mops. It removes bacteria by more than 70% compared to traditional mops. Research has shown that mopping with microcleanze fabric reduces heavy lifting and problematic body positions that can contribute to back injuries. Microcleanze is very durable in comparison to cotton and each pad an be machine washed up to 300 times!
DAILY DRY MOPPING
Each facility will have a different cleaning schedule based on its court floor usage. But the standard rule of thumb is to DRY MOP the court floor after each activity. If this cleaning schedule cannot be achieved at your facility, the minimum should be to dry mop the floor in the morning, afternoon, and evening each day the court floor is being used.
Using a Buffer – Shoe marks and scuffs can be removed by using a white pad and buffer (150-175 rpm) with a (1:10) solution of COURTCLEANZE™. Lightly mist the floor with the solution as you buff. Periodically clean or replace the white pad. Continued use of soiled pads will cause streaking.
Using an Autoscrubber – if you choose to use an autoscrubber with NEW white pads, dilute COURTCLEANZE™ to the same 1:10 ratio and ensure machine is properly adjusted to remove all cleaner immediately. No moisture should remain on the floor. Wipe up any remaining moisture with the PROMOP with microcleanze cleaning pad. EXCESS MOISTURE CAN DAMAGE THE WOOD. Make sure all residue from the white pad buffing/cleaning procedure is removed from the floor surface; immediately tack the surface with the PROMOP.
Place proper walk-of mats in doorways to keep out dirt and grit.
Install Felt Pad floor protectors on tables and chairs used on the hardwood floor.
Replace HVAC filters often.
Avoid excess moisture from tracked in water, leaks, or over-maintenance such as wet mopping.
